Invoicing
Invoices with rego, odometer and photos
A mechanic's invoice has to do more than ask for money. It has to say which car, at what kilometres, what was done, what it cost in parts and labour, and — increasingly — prove it. Mech Central invoices do all of that on one page, sent as a link the customer can open, pay and keep.

The problem
Invoices written up at night from a job card, so the odometer reading is a guess.
A single 'service and repairs' line that the customer cannot check and does not trust.
'I think I got ripped off' — because they never saw the worn part you replaced.
How it works
01
Pick the customer and car
One picker finds the contact and their vehicle; the rego, description and last odometer prefill. Update the reading and it is recorded on the invoice for good.
02
Add the lines
Quick-add from your Service Menu and parts memory, or type shorthand. Lines group into Labour, Parts, Tyres and Workshop charges with subtotals.
03
Attach the proof
Before and after photos are picked in the editor, compressed on the device and uploaded when you save. The customer sees them under 'Photos of the work'.
04
Send the link
The customer gets an email with a secure link. They see your branding, the GST breakdown and how to pay. Remind unpaid ones with one button.
The details
Vehicle description, rego and odometer print on the invoice and carry across automatically when an accepted quote becomes the invoice.
GST is opt-in per business: not registered means no GST line and no 'Tax Invoice' heading, registered means both, correctly.
One-page A4 print layout, compact on screen — a workshop invoice should not run to three pages.
Cost and RRP per part line in the editor, with profit on parts visible only to you; the customer sees the sell price.
Staff logins can be set to see the work but not the money.
Duplicate an invoice for a repeat job — vehicle and rego copy across, the odometer does not, because it is a point-in-time fact.
Questions
Can customers pay online?
Invoices show your bank details for transfer. Card payments can be switched on where the platform's card checkout is enabled.
Do I need a job for every invoice?
No. Mechanic invoices can be raised straight from the customer and car without a job number, and photos attach directly to the invoice.
Free for a month
Put one real car through it.
Set-up takes about two minutes. Book a car, quote it, photograph it, invoice it and let the reminder bring it back. The first month is free, so it costs nothing to find out.
